Sadly, I did not enjoy Landline as much as I'd expected I would. It's a good book, it's definitely okay, and I like Rowell's style of writing, but the story didn't work for me.
I don't know if I had too high expectations about this one or what really happened while reading it. When I started reading it I didn't really know what to expect and then suddenly the writing completely ensnared me and I had a surge of love for it, I couldn't put it down, I wanted to basically swallow it whole. But then as I read on I started feeling more and more incredulous. The whole time travelling through a landline bothered me a bit and just didn't really work for me and Georgie's entire situation was just so glum and depressing and I just started feeling a bit sad while reading it. I think the writing is really great, but it just pulled me down rather than in. The ending felt very much like a Hollywood romantic cliché-filled film, relying a bit too much on the reader being wrapped up in the glory and love, and I was just too bummed out by it all.

Jeg holdt faktisk meget af denne bog. Den forekom mig som værende meget ... ærlig og smuk.
SvarSletDet er faktisk først for nylig at jeg fandt ud af at den her bog har sådan noget tidsrejse-halløj. Før jeg fandt ud af det var bogen egentlig ikke en must-read for mig, især ikke efter skuffelsen med Attachments. Jeg er dog en sucker for alt der har med tidsrejser at gøre, så jeg tror jeg giver den her en chance :)
