We Were Liars by E. Lockhart

A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
True love.
The truth.

We Were Liars is a modern, sophisticated suspense novel from National Book Award finalist and Printz Award honoree E. Lockhart.
Read it.
And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE.

We Were Liars blew my mind. And I can't tell you anything about it. It's such a cliché to say about a book, but this is just the kind of book you have to go in blind with. If I tell you just an inch too much, it's spoiled.

I can instead tell you that I started out vaguely wondering what it was I was reading. Something YA-ish with rich white kids on a island, whatevs - and then suddenly; Mind blown. Amazing! But don't focus on that, don't go into this book looking for that spot, just read it and let it show up on it's own,

I think it is a fantastic book that's very well written and I went straight out and bought it after finishing reading my library copy. The pages almost turned themselves from page 1 despite my confused start. I'm usually not a fan of the writing style used in this book, but here it worked (quite flowy, somewhat pretentious, big words for young people to use).

Judging from the reviews on Goodreads, this is a book most either hate or love, but do yourself a favour and stay clear of spoilers, till you've read it yourself.
