Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Rachel is a mess and slowly we find out just how much and why. We follow her on her daily commute to and from London and as she watches two particular houses along the tracks. In one lives a couple whom she's names Jess and Jason, in the other... we don't talk about that one. Not yet.
J & J seem to have it all. They look madly in love and perfect. One day however Rachel sees something she can't unsee and when "Jess" shortly thereafter goes missing in the local news, Rachel knows she has to talk with the police. But like I said, she's a mess, so who will hear her out?
The story unravels into this amazingly twisted tale that completely ensnared me. I love the writing, I love the wit and the despair. Rachel has hit bottom and isn't really too keen on going anywhere, but she's pulled into something much larger than herself and has no choice in the matter. Nobody seem to be what they are supposed to and Rachel has too many black holes in her memories that needs to be filled.

Den har jeg også lige læst :) jeg var dog ikke helt så fanget af den, som det lyder til, at du var. Selvom den da havde sine øjeblikke og i det store hele var spændende nok :)
SvarSletJeg tror generelt også alt der foregår i områder af England jeg kan nikke genkendende til får ekstra store pladser i mit hjerte, så jeg er nok lidt partisk der ;)
